The Ambassador Circle is designed for the nurse who has retired from all active practice, but wishes to actively participate in issues related to nursing and certification. Nurses considered for the Ambassador Circle must apply and go through a rigorous selection process. If selected you would be required to attend an orientation program and obtain a minimum of 15 contact hours of continuing education annually. Some ANCC pre-approved travel may be required.
The Ambassador Circle members receive:
- a special certificate recognizing your specialty certification and displaying "retired" after your credential, i.e., Pat Jones, RN, C-Retired or Pat Jones, RN, BC-Retired or Pat Jones, APRN, BC-Retired.
- a special certificate with "Retired Ambassador."
- a two year subscription to the quarterly ANCC newsletter Credentialing News and promotional materials if desired.
- a letter acknowledging specialty certification.
- the ANCC Retired Certified Nurse pin.
- an invitation to represent ANCC at schools of nursing, specialty conventions, professional meetings and to participate in professional panels and special projects.
If your application is not selected you are automatically entered into the Pathfinder Circle and your funds are returned minus the $35.00 Pathfinder Circle fee.
If you are interested in being considered for this new and exciting opportunity to influence nursing, certification and impart your knowledge to others, complete the application, submit it along with the $150.00 fee, and return to:
