The American Nurses Credentialing Center is seeking a few certified Advanced Diabetes Management professionals to serve on a panel to set the passing score on the ANCC Advanced Diabetes Management examination. The panel is scheduled to meet at the ANA/ANCC headquarters in Silver Spring , Maryland for a two-day meeting on April 20-21, 2009.
To qualify to serve on the panel, you must meet the following criteria:
- Certified by ANCC in Advanced Diabetes Management;
- ANCC certification is valid at least until June 2010; and
- Minimum of 3 years certified as an Advanced Diabetes Management professional.
The passing score study (also known as a standard setting study) involves the collective judgment of a panel of 10 professionals in the specialty area. The panel will review each question on the examination and make a judgment about what percent of the entry level Advanced Diabetes Management professional would answer the question correct. The panel will receive adequate training on the first day of the meeting in setting the standard.
ANCC will cover your travel expenses up front including airfare, transportation to and from the airport in the Washington metropolitan area, and hotel accommodation. Advanced Diabetes Management standard setting panel members will receive a 15 hour reduction in the number of continuing education contact-hours required for the renewal of your ANCC certification.
