Dr. Victoria George is President and CEO of VMG Consulting. Victoria has been a Chief Nurse Executive for over 23 years. Before her current role as CEO of VMG Consulting she was CNO at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, an academic medical center located in Lebanon, New Hampshire and lead them through Magnet™ re-designation. As the SVP/ CNO for Catholic Health Initiatives she developed their first system-wide shared governance structure. While the regional VP/CNE for Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin, Victoria led the first hospital system to Magnet designation in 2001 and the first five Magnet hospitals in Wisconsin. Her passion for shared decision-making and shared governance implementation has provided the framework for her consulting services for the past ten years. Victoria is a also a Fellow with the American Academy of Nursing.

Victoria began her long association with ANCC as a Magnet program appraiser and then shifted her focus to assisting facilities and systems embarking on the Journey to Nursing Excellence™ and Magnet Designation. Victoria has assisted over 80 organizations obtain Magnet recognition. She is also a frequent instructor for ANCC's popular Journey to Nursing Excellence and Magnet Designation two-day workshop and a national speaker at the National Magnet Conference® .

Education

Victoria earned a nursing diploma from Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing, a BS in psychology from Bridgewater State Collage, BSN from Salve Regina College in Newport, Rhode Island, a Masters in Nursing Administration from Boston University, and a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She is a graduate of the Wharton School for Nurse Executives, and the Kellogg School for Executive Women.
