Library of Magnet Journal Articles

To serve the growing need of healthcare professionals for emerging knowledge about the MagnetTM experience we suggest the following online bibliographic databases to access timely journal articles.

PubMed is a service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes over 16 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical articles back to the 1950s. PubMed includes links to full text articles and other related resources. PubMed is a free resource. You can access the database at www.pubmed.gov. When searching PubMed, enter the key concepts magnet AND hospital in the search box to obtain current listing.

The CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) contains references to nearly 900 nursing, allied health, biomedical, and consumer health journals. It also includes books, dissertations, standards of professional practice, and educational software.

Your hospital may subscribe to the CINAHL database. Please contact your librarian to find out if the database is offered. When searching CINAHL, use the advanced search option and enter 3 terms:

  • Hospital [abstract]
  • AND magnet [abstract]
  • OR magnet [title]
