Summary
On Friday afternoon, September 19, the Annual Accreditation Workshop kicks-off with a free event: Communities of Practice. Communities include Constituent Member Associations, Specialty Nursing Organizations, Universities, Education through Media, Professional Education Groups and Health Care Organizations. This event is followed by an hors d’ouevres reception.
On Saturday, September 20, Dr. John Whyte, Vice President, Continuing Medical Education, Discovery Health®, is the opening guest speaker for both the Accredited and Non-Accredited workshops.
The workshop for accredited organizations will address changes in ANCC accreditation criteria and will provide opportunities for networking and sharing best practices. Breakouts will include topics such as Commercial Support, Obtaining Needed Documents from Speakers, and Recruiting Peer Reviewers.
There will also be a Workshop for Not-Yet Accredited Organizations for those organizations wishing to receive instruction in establishing a continuing nursing education unit.
Continuing nursing education contact hours are not awarded for attending these events.
